Out In The Styx Guesthouse is located at the base of the southern enclosure, which is ideal for exploring Maungatautari's Ecological Island or for doing the crossing.
We operate a drop-off service to Hicks Road for $10/head (minimum $40) and you can spend the day doing the north-south traverse which ends here with a relaxing hot spa. Follow this with a delicious dinner and a great sleep in one of our king-sized beds, then wake up to the bird song already returning to Maungatautari.
Guided night walks to learn about our indigenous flora and fauna are a great option too.
Discount offered to current MEIT supporters.
